I love the fact that nutritional science has enabled us to have a much greater understanding of how the body responds to, and metabolises certain nutrients through DNA Testing. We can now offer a truly personalised approach to nutrition, whilst also enabling us to take a preventative and proactive focus on health. Importantly, the tests enable us to modify what we can change in terms of diet and lifestyle, rather than what we can’t.
The DNA Test will help you better understand hormone imbalances, struggles with detoxification, predispositions to modifiable health conditions or food allergies and intolerances and help identify personal nutrient requirements. It can also provide answers to why some of us struggle with depression, anxiety or dealing with stressful situations.
Your DNA never changes so you will only ever need one test and it’s not changed by any medication, supplements or existing health conditions. The test is carried out by using a simple cheek swab and the consultation will provide personalised foods, lifestyle and supplement recommendations based on your unique DNA profile.
There are 10 reports available from Lifecode Gx who have approved me as a Nutrigenomics Practitioner to offer their tests. Not all 10 tests are needed (often one or two are sufficient). Reports available are Nutrient Core, Hormones, Methylation, Histamine, Oestrogen, Detoxification, Nervous System, APOE, Thyroid and Athlete. I will advise on the most appropriate for you.
The results can be life-changing.

Steroid hormones ae a group of hormones derived from cholesterol including progesterone, oestrogen, testosterone, DHEA and cortisol. They are involved in the regulation of many physiological processes in both men and women such as the development and function of the reproductive system, metabolism, inflammation and the immune system. Steroid hormones are generally carried in the blood, bound to specific carrier proteins.
Symptoms of steroid hormone imbalance can affect men and women, and include: infertility, low libido, low sperm count, acne, excess facial hair in women, PCOS, mood swings, weight gain, depression, menopausal issues, poor memory, or hormone-sensitive cancers.
The Hormones test analyses genes involved in the regulation, production, transport and metabolism of the stress and sex hormones (and there are a number). It looks how gene variants affects hormone imbalance and details the nutrients and environmental factors that can influence and improve their balance. Suitable for men and women.
Detoxification is the physiological removal of toxic substances from the human body. It is mainly carried out by the liver, and to a lesser extent the small intestine, kidneys and lungs. Substances such as nutrients, food additives, pesticides, medications, air pollutants, alcohol are transformed from being fat-soluble to water-soluble allowing them to be more easily excreted from the body.
Poor detoxification causes symptoms such as headaches, muscle aches, fatigue, allergies, skin disorders, weight gain, bloating, acid reflux and heartburn, excessive sweating, chronic infections, subfertility, low libido, poor mental function and low stress tolerance.
The test examines the genes which most impact detoxification pathways and provides personalised nutritional recommendations to optimise detoxification.
Oestrogen Balance Report
Oestrogen is one of the two major female steroidal sex hormones, the other being progesterone. Men also require oestrogen for producing sperm and maintaining libido, but at significantly lower levels.
Oestrogen imbalance can contribute to female gynaecological issues including fibroids, PMS, heavy menstrual bleeding, skin related issues including acne and rashes, and ER positive breast cancer.
The Oestrogen Balance test analyses genes involved in the oestrogen lifecycle. It looks at how gene variations affect production, activation and elimination of oestrogens as well as detailing the nutrients and environmental factors that can influence and improve their balance. This report is great for all women struggling with oestrogen-linked conditions.
